Not disputing that hyper-reclining is less safe than not, but I'm curious about the above statement. I thought the safety cage extended through the entire passenger compartmnet?

Doesn't make sense, especially in a Cabrio where the roll bar is quite obviously further back.

Loading pics here is brutal and archaic.. hope the pic of mi smarty is of use, I did the recline mod months ago and the seats work just fine other than when you want to recline the seat NOW you have more options in angle.
By the way it does not take herculean strength to do this mod. Just lift the lever that lets you recline the seat and while seated, push with your shoulders back. you will hear or feel the seat hit the side of the rear compartment when you have hit the limit of the mod. Now just enjoy the NEW view out of your panoramic roof or go topless ( the car!!!!) and enjoy the full effect of the cabrio. when you wish to come to an upright position for landings and or the food service of your little smart airplane, just actuate the lever as normal and sit up! let the lever go and enjoy your boxed lunch.

When I adjusted the passenger seat back farther, or should I say my youngest son did, at the Midwest Rally drive-in, it didn't want to return to the normal position. I found out the plastic seatbelt clip was hitting the rear compartment side plastic and was keeping the seat from returning to it's normal position. We just pulled it up a little harder.

I've watched this thread off and on since it started. Haven't done the 'mod' though. If anyone has addressed the driver's seat, I missed it. Although, it seems to me that the mod would work for either seat if it works for one. Does it?

To avoid nonsense replies: The only reason I would want the driver's seat to recline further is for the possible need to SLEEP, or at least relax for a while, with the car PARKED.

You can adjust both seats the same way. I did mine as soon as I bought it and like having more lead way in setting the back angle where I want it.

Go for it

Did mine yesterday. Works like a charm.

It's great learning fun tips like this from this forum.
