If you dont order the alarm, it is not prewired at the factory so cannot be added later by the dealer.

I learned this today.....

Is the LoJack a one time fee?

Do you have to pay a monthly fee?

Do you have to pay an additional fee if the car is stolen and it has to be activated?

So if not the factory alarm, what about an aftermarket with perhaps a remote starter function? Anyone?

I ordered an alarm after I purchased, it is not factory but the install was arranged by the dealer. The alarm I got is by Karr and has many different customizable features, such as disable for when you valet, turn off chirps etc. The only thing I feel I missed out on by not ordering factory is the extra fancy buttons inside the car for it.

LoJack is a one time fee.
No monthly.
No activation fee if vehicle is stolen.

We have LoJack on the H3.

I talked to my regional manager yesterday and he insisted that technical in Germany says that there is no support for an aftermarket alarm, as if it could mess up the smart electronics. Who is your dealership? How much did the KARR cost? Can you give more info, like model number, what smart version you have etc?

Thank you
Meaux

The KARR system they put in is called High Performance Series 3 (HP-BLUE) don't have a model number.

I have a Passion, purchased from Universal City Smart Center. (818)-smart-75

Not really sure how much I paid for it anymore, they didn't list the accessories charges separately.

Give them a call maybe they could answer your questions more thoroughly.
