While not a happy event, it was fairly common when I drove an Isetta in high school. I had to drive it down the front steps of the school once. Another time found it almost suspended from a low wall by the back bumper. One night our family - all 3 of us - went out for the evening in town and parked the car normally. Someone wanted the space so they wheelbarrowed the car into the street and left it there. The cops couldn't figure out how to tow it so they wheelbarrowed it down the street and reparked it.

Maybe the present day alarms will help deter this behavior.

I have a question: if (when?) your car is tipped, is it safe to just push it back, or will that damage the suspension? What is the best way to right the car?

I'm thinking it would be best to call the police first and file a report so your insurance will cover the damages and not blame it on you. Then I would call AAA and let them figure out how to get it back on the wheels.

I would have the bottom edges dusted for finger/hand prints also if possible. A friend had this happen to his MG back in the 70's,they finger printed it and traced it back to a guy at a fraternity, who then gave up 3 other guys. The car was on the roof and totaled.

Yes, file the police report first (for insurance purposes). Then, if you have enough friends, just tip it upright again. That is much better than having the tow truck operator throw a hook on some part of the car to pull it back up. That will cause more damage than the actual tipping.

I plan to use a fitted car cover when left unattended. Less chance of a tipping. IMHO ;)
