stock 9 spoke wheel problems

I got my Smart Passion in December 2008. In normal driving condtions without hitting a curb or any parking lot speed bumps I noticed I have a bent wheel on the front. Of course there is no road hazard warranty on wheels and tires so I had to spend $300.00 for a new wheel. Has anyone else had any similar issues?

If it held air, the warranty wouldn't have kicked in. At least not he warranty I was offered.

The policies must vary, my warranty replaced my bent rim even though the tire was fine and holding air.

I hit some big potholes and no bent wheel yet, it felt as if a tooth filling came loose. If yours id bent you or someone else driving your smart hit something hard.

Must be... good for you.
The sales manager offered it to me (I think it was branded by smart). When I read the fine print I said, "no thanks".

Have also hit potholes with no ill affect to the wheels. Would agree that if you don't remember doing anything, then maybe somebody struck you while parked.

I also bent a rim somehow, don't remember hitting anything major. It still holds air, so I just bought another rim on E-bay and kept the bent one, since I wanted a spare anyway.
