Open the service panel under the cargo deck, and it's on the left right behind the driver seat. It sits about 3/4 under the floor pan, so it's a little tough to get to. Unhook the intake tube and flex it out of the way, unhook the THREE spring clips( yes there are three one is under the intake tube) and you can lift up on the air cleaner lid and pull it out.

Darin says you can install the filter without modification, but I couldn't figure out how to get the tabs on the back of the air cleaner lid back into the base without trimming. The filter blocks the slots, and the rubber K&N uses is very stiff. I fit mine, and it definitely helps.

Darin was careful to remove the PN from the box, and I didn't check to see if it was molded into the filter somewhere.

It was a perfect fit. No problems with the install and way more performance. Now I have to install my Breathless Performance Touring exhaust this weekend!! Good luck,
Great work finding that part number!

Even if you haden't installed it yet, from the dimensions on the K & N website it looks right.

The 33-2647 is shown as 265mm (l) x 105mm (w) x 29mm (h).

The one smartcenter Portland is using is for a Chrysler Crossfire:

The 33-2290 is shown as 268mm (l) x 116mm (w) x 32mm (h).

The height and width of the 2290 make it difficult to impossible to get the airbox closed. I gave up trimming mine after I sliced my thumb open and needed to go get 4 stitches.

StreetsideAuto.com seems to have it for $30.65 including free shiping if you are willing to wait: "Ships in 7-10 Business Days" .

Here's the link to the K&N 33-2647

Anyone know of a cheaper place or a suitable cheaper substitute?

I think you've got the winner. I called Autoanything.com and it was $34 w/free shipping.

Thanks for the part number. The site you linked to says they're "no longer available" but AutoAnything.com does have them. I ended up calling (800-874-8888) and it was $34.99 with free shipping. With luck, it'll be here next week.

I sent the link to AutoAnything, and they refunded me the difference plus $1.
