My invoice is right here on my desk. The filter is in the car. The AutoAnything SKU is 2185346. Armand is wrong, or doesn't know what he is talking about.

K & N also didn't "recommend" using their oil filter that "we" on this forum figured out all by ourselves that was a direct replacement for the Mitsu filter that was a direct replacement for the OEM Smart filter.

They offer warranties and don't want to have to defend a claim on a product even if it has a cross application to another car. It's pretty simple.

brian r, congrats on a great deal and I'm glad it fits perfectly!

I just spoke with Customer Service at StreetsideAuto and they told me that the K&N 33-2647 will be in stock on 15 August, and if you order before 4PM it will ship on the same day.

Price will remain at $30.65 including free shipping, so feel free to price match with AutoAnything or any other online site.

Here's the link to the K&N 33-2647 at StreetsideAuto, so keep checking for availability.
I clicked on the StreetsideAuto link, and it looks like they are anticipating more K&N 33-2647s in stock, so they activated the order link.

I had several coupon codes, but most have expired. Fortunately, coupon code MC1 for 10% off the order is still active!

I'm in no rush and don't need to put up with compatibility or price matching contradictions from AutoAnything service reps, so I placed my order

So that's $30.65 for the filter, minus $3.06 for 10% off:
K&N 33-2647 Cost..$30.65
Shipping Cost.........Free
Coupon Discount....$-3.06
Total....................$27.59
On Friday StreesideAuto told me they expected restocking on 15 August, we'll see if they ship out early or hold me hostage until the 15th. Anyway. for $27.59 I'm willing to wait!

Yes, I came to the same conclusion so I ordered from StreetsideAuto.com.

Higher MPH at same RPM- How can this be?

I've been driving my Smart over the same route to work for about 4 months now. At 65 mph the tach has always read 3600-3700 rpm. Last night I installed the K&N air filter and today I noticed that the tach was reading 3000-3100 rpm at 65 mph. It seemed so odd that I changed one of my scangauge readouts to rpm to double check and it read the same as the one on my dash. I'm certainly not complaining, but is this possible, and, if so, what has happened and how does it work?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Thanksfor taking the time to respond. It didn't make sense to me but I'm not an expert in these matters so I thought I'd ask about it.
