2009 Accessory Options ?

Has anyone heard anything on what new options there may be for accessories next year ?

I'd really like, say, the rain sensor auto-headlighting and auto-off lights on exit, but I don't want leather seats...

Every country but the US seems to have multitudes of options, and maybe smart going into their second year here will increase the options like they are in other countries ?

Well, if I choose them, yes. I'm hoping to get some things that aren't there now, but also to just have things in that package as solos.

no, i meant that, the greater the variety of options, the greater possible configurations, which will add complexity to the production process which will result in greater costs to build which will be passed onto the consumer.

this is why the comfort package of options is less expensive than purchasing each individually - by packaging them, they bring simplicity to the assy line. there are that many fewer possible combinations of parts.

If your looking for just different colors in the panels you can always order them from other countries. JUst go to smart.com and choose some random countries, they have a couple different color options!

And as for "the U.S. is the only country without all the options", its because this is our 1st year doing this. Give it a little while and give it a chance, we will also have more options in later years! You gotta remember, those European countries have had these for 5+ years!

Found the colours on the German site (can't wait for that grey, which I shall choose since I'll definitely have a 2009 (or later ) model), but those are definitely coming.

I'm just looking for all the little random things, and as you pointed out, I figured the low amount of customisation is because smart has yet turned a year here. So, here's hoping next year brings new goodies...
