I just requested mine as well. A silver/silver coupe. If anything, I think they'll become collector cars.

I am in as well and chose the silver exterior. My first Fortwo finally arrived in July after a 1+ year wait but I declined (yes, an orphan) after I had a hunch they we would be importing the Brabus model in the near future. We should receive an e-mail by November 2nd confirming our choice. I predict high demand for the limited production Brabus model. Resale on these should be excellent if and when an owner decides to sell. I was hoping for the 98hp turbo engine, but it's not happening.

I was really excited about being able to convert my reservation to a Brabus. I even left work early tonight so I could get the e-mail! Gotta say thought, I'm sort of underwhelmed. $4,000 premium over a Passion for wheels and doo-dads. No performance boost. I wont knock anyone for ordering one but I cant justify it. Someone else can have mine. :-)

The BRABUS turbo engine has 98 DIN HP, not 90. These cars are quick even with the 84 HP engine, so the Turbo would be worth waiting for IMO. After the Turbo is introduced, I suspect the non-Turbo BRABUS will be a very distant second place in collector value.

Still, the 70 HP car will look good, it's just that they'll be slower than a pure (more tire friction, same power).

Then you are both wrong. The brabus monoblock alloys were only made in smart fitment in 16", 17" and 18" for the Roadster.

It will definitely be a 16" front, 17" rear combination which has been seen on many of the previous fortwo brabus smarts.

I find it amazing that so many people are blindly jumping on this bandwagon before they knew the spec and price. I expect a lot of these are going to become orphaned when people realize what they are getting for their money.

You could spec/add to a smart and make it better than your new spec Brabus for way less than smart are going to sell them for. 70 bhp is a joke.
You can map a standard 71 bhp to be 80bhp, with a better filter and exhaust you could probably see 84bhp.

I would urge you to boycott this Brabus wannabe, they are clearly taking you all for fools. Demand what you deserve.

Don't know about what you were configuring, but my Brabus is only about $2K more than the Passion I currently have in process. It's white and black with every option except DRLs. It came up to $16,225 I think, so to pay only a little over $18K for a Brabus? It's a no brainer. I may even consider cancelling the white and black one that's suppose to be here in March.

And I can't and won't speak for the others that are jumping on the bandwagon, but I'm ordering it for the wheels and tires along with the special paint, not to mention other possible 'goodies'. To have that done myself will be more than the $2,000 difference in price. I'm not sure where you get that any of us "deserve" anything from smart. they are offering a product and if you don't like it, then buy something else. But at least let us that don't care so much about added performance (it's a 3cyl city car....it IS what it IS) have our fun, OK?

I basically agree, this is a pretend Brabus. As to resale probably like the pretend Gto when it first came back.As to the 15 or 16 in front wheels it definitely states 15 but they could be wrong too soon to tell.As to the price over the passion model wheel prices are taking a dive to more reasonable levels.I expect body kits to do the same in the near future. When these cars arrive it will be less of a buy.It temepted me but I'll wait for the sport model and not the designer one.
