2009s have arrived!

I was down at Devon, PA smart dealer today to do some paperwork. I had cargo tracked my car and knew it was in Baltimore. I asked my man Eric why they were being held up, knowing from other forum members that their car had arrived many days ahead of mine but had not shown up at local dealers.
Eric wasn't sure but he thought that they had to wait for '09 emissions stickers and that a in a few hours he was going to get his first shipment of 2009 smarts, all 11 out of 33 of them.
Devon smart was looking pretty empty, they hadn't seen a new smart in 3 weeks, and had sold almost every last 08 orphan.
So Good news to all of us, we should be getting our smarts in any day now!
As an added bonus, I took a nice 1/2 hour test ride with him around town and on the freeway. The smart drove great just like, well, any car should. I spent the entire time chatting with Eric about stuff and was never distracted by anything that would not have occurred on a drive with any other car.
Woot!

I have a car scheduled with devon. My DDE for the longest time said November 2008 to January 2009. Now it says nothing. It has said nothing for more than two weeks. I'm trying to find out how long I have to sell my orphan.

It's so exiting, my car is almost here.
Eric called me a little bit ago and said 11 arrived at Devon ( mine wasn't on this trailer), and if the trucking deities are benevolent, another batch will arrive tomorrow. Give them a call and find out if yours is there. good luck.

My Georgetown, Maryland dealer is hopeful that my 2009 is received at his location tomorrow am. If not, Saturday will be ok. This pregnacy has gone on for 13 months now. I am ready!!!!!!! My Passion, silver with black, is calling my name.
I believe because of the Veterans Day holiday, the dock workers got a 4 day holiday out of it. I understand that. It still sucks, but I understand it.

This is GREAT news. I can once again be excited about getting my 2009 (you know, the one that landed in Baltimore on the 29th of October - more than two weeks ago).

Hope my dealer calls me in the next day or so.

I drove by my local dealership yesterday and they are pretty empty looking too. I'm assuming their next delivery will be the 2009s, which I hear will be in the next couple of weeks.

Out of curiosity, how to they deliver the cars to the west cost? Anyone know?

Ok, we all want to see the new red. So, if any of you go by to pick yours up, and there is a Rally Red, get a photo of it and post it pls.

The ships cross over Panama to Long Beach for the CA smarties. From there they are loaded onto trucks. I'm sure there must be at least one other port on the west coast - possibly Portland OR
