My dealer called and said the inertia canister was not mounted properly and could lose its charge.

The trainer at the smart house in Venice, CA hadn't heard anything about this as of this afternoon.

From what I heard about this recall, it may be quite frequent as the little gatorade bottle for the Hamster wheel needs to be refilled after each 300-500 miles.

Probably something that each owner will be able to themselves after the first time.

The good thing is that there is apparently some mechanism in place to forward service bulletins to the dealers' service departments - from someone who is "smart" somewhere up the pipeline.

Is this what they are looking at on the recalls? Cracking a windshield right out of the nest seems not too great. Install problem, design problem, fabrication problem, transport problem? Are there any other windshield fractures?? Any comment from the smart trainer??

Argh, not another one, already dealt with the the Mini and its inherent windshield stress crack issues

Ours went inside 400 miles (and probably only has not re-occurred because we replaced with non OEM glass and a special film) and many many many have had to replace it from stress cracks, some even multiple times. Its definitely the way the windshield is designed to mate to the car as well as the steep angle.

I really hope this is not a similar thing with the Smart

Auto companies arn't too smart when dealing with recalls. Ford recalled almost all their F150s,because they could burn your house down if in the garage. The fix,'because they had no parts',was to unplug the cruse control, because brake fluid could drip onto the control switch.Well just tell you what it is and let you decide if they need to do it.Of coarse Ford just wanted to make sure it got done to cover their butt. Don't think it is much different the French way.

Would not call what is going on here as a recall sorting through the responses seems just New England is the target more of a QC spot check tan anything else. Lawyers with there attending minor clerks and other officials... have us doing lots of dumb s#%t.
