My original place in line (25 JUN 07) was calculated to be #18,800 (+/- 100), and it took just shy of 13 months for delivery. 80K - Geez-o-Whizz!

I know what you're saying, but unfortunately they can't ramp up and they are just getting started with the Chinese market. So, end result is exactly what we're seeing - longer wait times.

I agree!! Look I'm at the smart dealer right now, They got an ophan in (red passion comfort package silver trident) asked about it. Was told that they are giving it to one of there employe. Also that it would be impossible to get like that, because they will upfit any that just "show up". So what I'm asking is. How does it really work?? If 1340's gets to config today what is the REAL spread to let's say 1500? Does anyone really Know? Or I'm I just killing time till they get the door panel changed!!! Oh I hear it in the building , got to go.

I believe the answer is nobody but smart USA knows, and I'm not even sure they really do.

Yikes....you would think somebody would be trying to figure out how to make 80,000 more cars somewhere. It's not rocket science.

maybe the author of the article mis-heard Penske's statement: maybe it's really "eighteen thousand" and not "eighty thousand"???

who knows?
