9 coming to RI - New Notification procedure

I just got off the phone with Susan Lemoy? of Inskip Smart (owned by United Auto Group). She got the Fedex package.
She has 5 on the way and 4 more enroute. All she has are the information for those reservation holders - NOT me (at 1185 I was a long shot) One lucky early reservation holder is from Nantucket island. a few others from
Cape Cod and some from CT. Seems like only 4 from RI.

She expects 20 / month. The next shipment in February.

She confirmed $395 for extension of warranty up to 3 yrs. - 36,000 miles. There are others as well including up to 5 years and 75,000 miles for $1300 (I think).

BUT:
Here's the notification procedure for the rest of us:
1 - Smart will email us when our car is in production.
2 - Smart will next email us when it arrives in US in port.
3 - Smart will then email us as it ships.
4 - the dealer will contact us when they get it.

Good info; I believe even the early reservation holders were to get an e-mail from smart today.

Thanks for the update. Each little tidbit helps construct this humongous jigsaw puzzle by a piece at a time. It's like we've finally found two pieces of the new puzzle that fit together. I keep wondering what time they are going to send out that official 'e-mail' we were promised, since it sounds like phone calls are happening before the e-mail at this point. Maybe they are waiting for it to get 10:30 on the west coast??????

I spoke with the future manager of Smart cars of miami the extended guarrantes are non factory , there are third party companies.
I herd this types of extended guarrantees are no good for the consumer.they will cost $390 for 1 year.
