Nice review. It's kind of interesting how several other countries are interested in how we receive the smart; are they seeing if we will we adopt a "not invented here (or Japan)" mentality?

I think we Americans have pretty much adopted German cars (Porsche, BMW, MB, Audi, VW etc) and Japanese cars (we all know those makes). Even Korean cars. Our acceptance of French cars (Citron, Renault) didn't do well for the French. Perhaps our German/French smarts can be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

I think the Brits are looking on in bemused interest about an iconic car they have had around for almost 10 years finally being sold in the land of cowboys and Indians.

Ah, the Sun...

Pretty good article for the Sun, which is the tabloid of tabloids in the UK. The best bit of the Sun is the page 3 feature....

BTW, mini cars are not new to America. The original Minis came in 850cc and 1000cc versions and were/are 10 ft long - ours fits in the the garage sideways behind another car.

Absolutely - they were sold in the UK as well; sort of a reverse Mini.

Apparently viewing your picture is restricted to paying members only. It can't be seen by mere mortals. Can you find another host like Photobucket to post your picture?

This is pretty good for pictures. My Grandparents had one they called the Met. From looking at the pictures it must have been around a 1962.

you know, the smart is so tall, that truck and the smart look like dad and son. best buds.

very similar upright looking genes. i mean, look at them. they are both front seaters, no back seat. birds of a feather, flock together.

if some other back seater vehicle messes with the smart, looks like that big daddy truck would squash it like a bug, to protect his smart son.

i think the big trucks will love it, something new to break the monotony of the long truck drive.
