Boston dealer called me tonight!

Kind of funny. I drive by the location twice a day. On the way to work and on the way home. I have been looking into the showroom since the beginning of the month, when it became clear this would be the Smart location. Even this morning, January 10, there was nothing to see. The showroom was empty. Around 07:00 PM this evening, the phone rings and I got a call from the dealer, to tell me the showroom is officially open (and has been inspected and approved by Smart/Penske) and to let me know, they received confirmation from the factory, that my car is already in transit. I could expect to be one of the first to take delivery in Boston. They thinnk it will be another couple of weeks before it arrives at the dealership. On the way home, there was not much new to see. They have some photos up on the wall but no displays of any kind. BTW, the dealer is the Lynnfield Smart Center in Lynnfield, MA, on Rt. 1 North, right next to the Mercedes dealership.

I've been doing the same thing but last nite I stopped cause i saw people inside sitting at the desk so I weent to the door and knocked and they let me in. The MB general manager, a very nice woman whom I had been in contact with several times prior to this meeting introduced me to the Smart Center of Latham's Brand Manager, John Monroe and to their Smart Enthusiast, Damir Khuza-Ahmet. The place was very clean and they had just finished readying it for Smart to do their certification today, which they did and it was passed today. They told me that many things that would dress up the walls more than the pictures that were already hanging would arrive with the cars. This is pretty much in line with what I've heard from others here today including you.
The wheels are in motion in portions of the country. Next week will be a doozy with the waiting for me....knowing that the car should arrive perhaps next week......
To all of you....JUST KEEP YOUR CHINS UP...IT WILL HAPPEN FOR YOU TOO!!

So glad to hear your good news! I live outside Boston & just reserved my Smart Car yesterday. I'm desperate to find out how soon I can get one - as I HAVE to get a car ASAP! I can probably hold out for a month or so if I KNOW I'm getting one. If not, I might have to break down & get a Yaris!!! I'll check the Lynnfield Smart Center & see what's up!

Bremer, I called the Lynnfield dealer 4 days ago - Talked to Patricia to introduce myself. I cant wait to go and pick up my baby. Probably will take a while since I reserved one a month ago though. Congrats!!!
