Considering the already poor range of the standard ED, I wonder if this Brabus version will feature some sort of improved battery system in order to offset the more powerful motor.

72 miles for the standard version isn't bad and by 2012 the range of the Tesla batteries will have increased dramatically IMHO.

Agreed, many people claim electric vehicles won't do well until they have a 300+ mile range per charge, but the average commute is only 32 miles round trip. ABC News

I would gladly trade in my '08 Pure for an electric. We have a second car for longer trips.

In fact, 66% of American households own two or more cars (31% own two, 35% own three or more) reuters

So, America doesn't need every vehicle to do everything, as Smart ForTwo owners we should understand that more than most.
