Calm before the Storm

Forum seems a bit quiet today. Everyone anticipating calls and e-mails tomorrow.

Hope the 1173s will post info about any contact they recieve ASAP tomorrow and also hope some of the dealers will post what they recieve in terms of numbers of reservations etc.

I'm committed to posting any contact I may be lucky enough to receive.

Feels a bit like Christmas eve. Let's hope we aren't dissapointed.

Everyone get a good nights sleep tonight and I'm hoping many of you have a great day tomorrow.

Good Luck and best wishes to all.

Even late reservationists should be excited as they can't get their's until they start to roll and you will be way ahead of the general public who will only react after they start to see the smarts on the road and on TV.

I imagine some sort of story on all the national news outlets. This really is going to be a big deal when you think about it. Kinda cool to actually be a part of it. I'm a November reservation but the craziness around this board with all the speculation and such is fun.

I'll admit I have gotten caught up in the anticipation, it is fun

I've already got some ideas of things to buy and started to think about how to safely carry my dog in the back (and this for a car I wasn't sure I'd actually get when the time came; we are terrible about cars around here though, we do like trying new ones)

Besides getting a kennel, how about this? Available from your dealer.

Protective divider plus:
The clever 2-in-1 solution offers flexibility and safety. Thanks to the safety net with integrated
luggage compartment cover, you can always make the most of the luggage compartment.

Tomorrow will be just another day

I think the only people that will get phone calls or e-mails tomorrow will be the next few people on the list that are in line. I don't think there will be that many people contacted tomorrow. Every time we think that we are at a break through point with information it doesn't turn out to be the case. I don't think the process will go any faster than it already has. I also will be surprised if there are a huge number of 1173's that get their cars before the end of the month. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Cool, thanks, that is very interesting, reminds me of the net our M Coupe had. Too bad the luggage compartment cover is attached, but looks very handy. Hope its not too expensive, I might have to get one (actually I had thought the car would come with the shelf bit like other hatches).

I have a little dog and a seat she can be hooked to that works with the seatbelt so the whole kit and caboodle is secure and doesn't fly around in case of short stop/accident. Has fit fine in the back seats of all sorts of cars, from Minis to 911s, and I was wondering if I would be able to jerry rig it to work in the hatch if there was a way to tie things down back there.

One thing that was clear when I was looking at the coupes in the SF showroom was that I'd have to use something to separate the hatch area from the front so groceries and stuff couldn't go from the back to the front and wedge in between or under the seats, maybe something like this:

smart is way ahead of you. Check out the UK accessory catalog and see all the great bits they have for the back. The rear cover comes with the smart, just not the net.

tis was the night before Christmas....

well, I guess delivery day would be more appropriate for that!

One thing that I've noticed this week is no mention of new email confirmations...seems like the usual weekly batch of confirmations didn't go out? Are they changing this method once the dealers open, or perhaps they are just busy with "other things"?
