German Cargo Train Strike Is Hurting Porsche, Daimler
By Chad Thomas
Nov. 8 (Bloomberg) -- German train drivers started a two-day strike on the nation's cargo service, threatening to cripple the ability of manufacturers including Porsche AG and Daimler AG to move supplies and products on Europe's largest rail network.
Engineers stopped working at noon today and will remain off the job for 42 hours, the GDL union said. Workers threatened to widen the strike next week to local and long-distance passenger trains.
