If I was you, I would not worry about it. You are way far out. I would worry if you were 90 days out, but being that you are like 6 or more. I would not even think about their DDE. It is kind of screwy until you actually get within the 90 days and then it can still jump around.
Still hoping for an orphan in December or January and then I won't have to worry about my DDE date anymore. I was just so excited when a date range finally showed up but 2 - 3 weeks later, it was gone.

Mine did that right before and right after I configured. Watch your inbox...
I am in Chicago, I reserved around july 2008. My DDE is Aug 2010 - Oct 2010. I see a lot of people in other state got their delivery less than 6 months. Is Chicago really Smart crazy or what?

I ordered in November of 2007 if you can believe it, still no car, supposedly it will be here in December, 2008 and will be a 2009 model. Its been a long haul, and not over yet.
Well, if you are going to get it by dec2008. That's only 1 year wait. My DDE is more than 2 years. I saw another post that mentioned 30% is orphan in Chicago. I think people just placed a reserve for fun. Since it is only $99 for a reserve and no penalty for not buying.

I'm a 1651, reserved in July (21st? Date escapes me...) for baby #2 and just this AM I saw my DDE finally registered with an estimated date of January - March 2010.
I reserved 4-20-08. Just got the DDE to give me a date of December 09- February-10. I was figuring probably April 09 for a probable date figuring a year or so. I don't know if my 96 Protege with 160,000 miles on will last that long. Do you find that once you get a DDE that the dates shorten up or stay about the same or gets longer?

When I first made my reservation back in Jul'08 my DDE said Dec '09-Feb. '10, like your DDE does. However since that first date, my DDE changed 4 times and moved up at least 7 months. I have now configured, and my DDE is March '09 to May '09. I am in CA, so that seems to make a difference, but I wouldn't be surprised if your DDE doesn't move up too.
I have a wacky question for you guys. What if I want my DDE to be later?? I place my reservation in May 08 and got DDE of June 09 - September 09. I really need a bigger cushion of time to pay down my existing car loan so I can get out of it. I wondered if anyone had ever ask smart if they could delay their reservation, putting others ahead of themselves??
I think you should check with your dealer to hear what they say. You may want to cancel the reserevation now and place another one(to push the DDE later).
