Question on the DDE. Mine now says DEC 08 - FEB 09. I didn't receive a configuration email yet. I don't want the more expensive Brabus (offered via email) without performance. How can I receive my smarty so quickly without configuring?

Did you sign up for the Bravos upgrade. The same thing happened to me after I signed up for the upgrade. Hopefully that means we have been accepted. We should find out soone.
Actually I didn't sign up for any upgrade. Everything is the same as it was back in July when I ordered (reserved) the vehicle.
I did call the 1-800 Smart number today though. They estimated currently deliveries at 18 to 24 months after order placement. When I reserved the car I was quoted 6-8 months. 18-24 is surely something different. I imagine they will loose several sales with lead times that long.

I was told 18 months myself by the british guy who works at my local smart dealership. He's british they must know more than us since they've had the car for so long in their country.
Yea that sucks. I reserved April 08 and my DDE says Dec09 to Feb 10. I did talk to Allison at Smart Dallas and she said that they are opening a dealership in Ft Worth in Jan 09. and when it opens the Reservers from that area will be moved to the new dealership. Dallas will get the same number of cars and Ft Worth will get the same number of cars as Dallas so our area will get double the cars than before. Also since a great deal of reservers will be moved to Ft Worth the Dallas people will move up considerable on the DDE. I would guess the people taht are moved to the new store will also move up as they will not have the Dallas people in their mix.
Ok, that's "f'd" in the "a" as I put my reservation in back in May 08 and have not gotten a configure email yet. I'm confused now.
It just all depends how many smart dealers are in your area. In my area there are at least four within two hours of each other. I reserved in July of this year and also have already configured. When I started this process my DDE also said late '09 to early '10, but it has moved up 10 months. Hopefully your reservation will too.
