New DDE Info 7/21/08-10/19/08, perhaps it will even get better?

Yep......18 months after you get my $99 is a bit long.....Yes...$99 is not a lot $$...but all combined and invested well is something.....I have wanted a Smart since I saw pic of them 10 years ago. I always said if they sell them here I will get one. BUT it looks like I might be able to get the Mitsu sooner and it will serve the same purpose...with a tons better warrentee!! Geuss its time to do some hard thinking.....had big plans for my Smart in Aug 08....REALLY thought that order one the 1st of June 07 I'd have it.....oh well......

I reserved in October 07 (1383) and it looks like March - May 2009! I was hoping for a date more in line with a year after my reservation was made. Not a happy camper right now and am trying to determine whether to forgo this journey and go find something else I can actually drive soon! They would have been better off NOT releasing this information with such dire predictions on when we could expect delivery.

I put in my email address, and got this message:

Your vehicle delivery date cannot be estimated at this time. Please continue to check the Delivery Date Estimator from time to time for updated information.

I know that my reservation is only a month old, but some of you reserved a long time ago and are getting estimated dates that are really far off.
So I'm taking this as an omen that I will be driving my Honda for a v e r y long time.

I reserved a second smart fortwo hoping for a 2009 model year version... I expected about a year ( actually 8 to 10 months) for the delivery..... the estimator is telling me a Jan 08 reservation will not be delivered until LATE 2009
