Delivery Dealer Can Be Changed

I went back into today to my configuration page to add a cell number. This is done via the myfortwo link that you get when you confirm. Along with contact info change, there is also an option to change the assigned delivery dealer. They stated however that the process can only be done once in the reservation. This may or may not be new, I didnt pay attention the last time I was in there.
I am keeping mine of course as its only 10 miles away and I have had lots of contact with them. But I think this is one gripe that we have had that has been addressed. I think that we do matter!

Now, this is interesting - would changing a dealer change your estimated delivery of the vehicle? If an allotment of cars are full at one location, causing you to be delayed in getting the car at that locale, and move it to another area which may not be fully alloted, would that not change your estimated arrival of your car to an earlier date?

I configured in CT then when notified to select final colors, options, etc., we changed colors and changed delivery dealer to NC. My vehicle came in after a year and 4 days wait, in NC as wanted.
I never called smart usa - just did it on line. In my thinking it might have made it to CT a week or to earlier but wasn't an issue...

unable to change dealer

when i configured there was not an options to change the dealer -when i reserved i put in pit. pa on the configuration they had oh and there was no option to change - i have repeatedly emailed and called to try to get it to the pits. dealer and have had no success - i wish it was as easy as just changing it on the configuration page - i have called both dealers oh and pit and still no help

From what I learned today from IB (posted under "Delivery Date Estimator"), I think that there is a good possiblity of being placed at the end of the new dealer's queue (held by IB, not the dealer) upon the change. It seems like the original 10-digit registration time-date stamp is replaced with an "area-date" stamp pretty early in the process.
