Delivery Expectations

I contacted PAG this morning to try to confirm some of the posts regarding dealer allocations etc.

While they were unwilling to confirm allocations they did say the following:

Ken,

"We are in the process of sending all of our insiders a more accurate timeframe as to when they can expect delivery. "

"I cannot confirm any numbers on dealer allocation."

Ken Kettenbeil
Director Communications & Community Relations
Penske Corp

Hopefully we will begin to hear something very soon.

Some sooner than others.... best rumor I had is the So. Cal. 3 dealers are expecting 600 cars each this year, and have about 500 reservations. This is from the guy at BH Benz that is doing the ordering.

With the other 7-8 dealers in the state this adds up to the 20% of the 30,000 cars expected to land in California (6,000).

Your guesstimate will vary.

a better way

There has got to be a better way for this to work. Waiting is one thing, been doing that for years the worst of it is the lack of information. many of the people in this forum have pulled lots of neat stuff together and i appreciate that, makes the waiting easier. Time for PAG to lay some cards on the table.

I made an e-mail contact at the two MB dealers, one firm, the other not, here in Georgia. I have yet to hear anything from them. One is in Atlanta the firm dealer and the other is in Jacksonville, Florida. We'll see how this works out next month I guess. They did not even acknowledge my e-mail request for some info. Not very good PR to me.

Jax is the closer, isn't it?

Atlanta dealer smart rep contacted me within TWO HOURS of my initial e-mail.
Called me on the phone...How cool is that??!

As I told her, although I don't plan to be purchasing for some time now, I want them to know I exist...and that I will some day be a customer.
I asked them to keep me informed on anything smart related. Mail lists...whatever....

Nice to see another smart Georgian. Have you ordered?
