Denver Dealer Grand Opening 2/19!!

I just looked at the Denver smart center's website' It says: "

Grand Opening :: February 19, 2008

Hey Colorado Smarties...smart center Denver's sales department is now open for business. Come test drive the fortwo and check out our new digs..."

I thought based on the pictures it would be March....

Is the Colorado dealer going to keep the dealer fee at the same rate as your other dealer in Portland?

YAY! I went there Tuesday for the grand opening and did a test drive. They have a set route that you drive, so you can't choose where you go or how long. I hope that changes as they have more time per person (they said there was someone else who had a test drive appointment after mine). Even tho I asked, I couldn't go where I wanted.

If anyone could get them to let you drive it to the Santa Fe/470 exit (going eastbound) that's the best in-town hill I can think of to test how good it'll be going around in the mountains. Post with updates if they let you drive it there!!

They said someone took delivery on 02/19, but the rest were being delivered 2/20 or later. Seven cars in the first delivery, and supposedly another eleven arriving today.

I too am insterested in how it does in the mountains. Denver, my second home ;)

Hmm, just picked up my Smart last weekend in Denver.

The truth - the high alt does take more than a bit out of it, and it did become a bit lite footed thru the mountains. An extra 10 - 20 hp would have been helpful traveling the hills. Trying to go "fast" at high alt with the a/c on is what I would consider a no no. But then if you wanted to go real fast - you would not be looking at the smart car.

The test course is not flexable, even if you are on the list to buy that day.
I found that the paddle shifters can be useful when you have to keep the RPM higher to merge into traffic.

When I got there last Sat - they had a nice new shipment of Smart cars being unloaded.
