Shabby interior build quality compared with other subcompacts?
Overpriced compared with subcompacts?
Only good for 60mph on freeway?
Old Jetta TDI better value?

Lies, lies, and more lies. Doesn't the Detroit Free Press have editors? I have no problem with people not liking the Fortwo, but why lie to convince oneself or others.

In the case of this negative artical, you have to consider the source and who the readership of the paper is. If they came out likeing it the detroit free press could lose 1/2 there subscribers.

It's called a free press because maybe no one would pay for it?

You should consider who the readership of the paper is, many unhappy auto workers that love to see bad reviews about imports of any kind.

Can't believe anything written in today's media - TV or paper. Had a really difficult job trying to find an economical and affordable car for our 6' 7" son when he graduated from college. Poor paying jobs for all these days. Did get a '07 Nissan recently - and it does about 41 miles to a gallon on the highway. He's content but I don't know of any American car that can brag about such mileage.

Now that I'm in need - find the Smart more than fills the bill. Never saw anyone except some local talk show in Pittsburgh that mentioned this vehicle. It's a plan, folks. And a secret . . . .

With an 80% dropout rate in Detroit schools, 1/2 of their subscribers probly can't read.
Kind of sounds like when Rambler,in Kenosha didn't want anything but Ramblers in their parking lots. Probly wouldn't want to drive a 4 two, to a Chevy factory these days.

It's just like the consumer reports video review of the smart where he complains about how it leans like crazy in the turns, and they show video of him going through a bunch of s-turns with the car hardly leaning at all. Gotta love those reporters.

[*ahem!*]

There're a lot of people in the state of Michigan outside of the metro Detroit area who read the Free Press. Let's watch it with the broad generalizations, shall we?

(Unless, of course, you don't mind other people taking pot-shots at you...)

What '07 Nissan gets 41 mpg? Just curious . . .
