A nice well written article about who Penske is and why he wants to sell the Smart car. IMO.

I thought it was a very well written and certainly informative article about the man. A hard charger, he seems to personally like and believe in the micro car entrance into the US market.Driving it 200 miles over the road in Texas last Summer seems to have convinced him that he may be on the right track. So he gets involved still at 70 years old. Good for him. I think his new idea created with the Smart reservation program WILL save the auto industry $$$$ and allow them to be more competitively priced. We all know that has to happen. Fish's remarks above concerning the total unit production are well taken....the numbers seem to be continuously going up despite the strike over there. Hope that gets resolved soon.....

A very encouraging article. And I'm with Fish "That they really do intend to build cars to customer order". I'm still curious how that'll work but I'll just hide and wait. Shanna - thanks for the great post.....good find.
