Got contact info at San Francisco dealer??

I'm an early number.. possibly in the first wave of deliveries. BUT I'm going to be away most of January and REALLY don't want to be passed over because I'm not in town to take delivery. I'd love to make a contact at the dealer to confirm my [nearly rabid] interest. Anyone got names? I'll probably just go in to the MB dealer and say hello. Maybe that's good enough.

That's the plan I followed at Beverly Hills Mercedes. Walked in and found the guy who's the smart Director. Talked with him today, got his card and he got my info. We'll keep in touch. Remember, underneath it all, they are car salespeople! Treat them accordingly.

Welcome Bill -

I'm sure the soon-to-be smart owners around San Francisco appreciate your posting an update on smart Center San Francisco's status. Because I pass the dealership to and from work it's been interesting to see it take shape. First as a Mercedes-Benz showroom and now adding a smart Center upstairs.

Congratulations on a great job hosting part of the October press rollout which has lead to some excellent publicity.

I saw you quoted in USA TODAY stating your excitement about the smart brand. You'll have to tell us if their description of you as "otherwise buttoned-down" is apropos.

Looking forward to the showroom opening in a couple weeks.

Most likely not. spdickey is correct, and by July San Jose should be up and going, could be them too. Mapquest your address to all three dealers and see if one is significantly closer. It's not a guarantee but at least later on you'll know who is in fact closest. You may also be able to choose which one you want to take delivery from later on too.
