Have any of you heard what the price increases are going to be for the 2009 models??

Nothing official so far; Oct 1 is start of 09 production so maybe they'll release the new prices then.

I think if they raise the price it will deter more people from buying.... but they need to cover costs. Hmmm...

My dealer figured out on my car 3% which comes out to about $300ish. I am guessing that covers the new gas cap closed sensor.

And don't forget the cargo nets in the doors.

Thanks guys. I'm so excited for my new car, but I still need to figure out finances!! I guess I will go loan shopping starting in October!!!! =]

I'm right there with ya! My smart may show up late October and I haven't figured out financing either!!!

I configured Aug 07 and rechecked my configuration the other day. It now shows the 2 changes for the 2009 model (door nets and gas cap warning) and the price shows the same.

Next to the price is a * and if you look what it says, it says the price is for the current year model and is subject to change for 2009 models.

Hard to imagine there won't be an increase based on the current demand for the car and the increase in energy and material costs. If they misjudge they can always do rebates and promotions.
