Has anyone heard free smart?

I know this was on a post somewhere, but a builder in our area is offering free smarts with a new home. I spoke with him this weekend and he is wanting to sell 65 smarts. I don't know much about it but he says they are 2006 and are brand new (no milege). If anyone is interested let me know and I'll get you his info

Are they the USA models? It's easier to get the European models to sell but they aren't quite up to the USA standards for safety, etc.
Clever incentive though...aren't Rowlett homesales still doing well? I know Houston, Austin, (and I think) Dallasare still the top locations for seller's markets left in the US...I used to live in lil Rowlett...I'm in Austin now...

oh, except it doesn't matter where you are if you are a builder trying to sell new homes in the $150,000 or less range...because it's so hard for those folks to get a mortgage now in comparison to yesteryears. So, yeah, that makes sense.

We have a builder in our area (Idaho) also offering new smart cars with purchase of their homes. They picture the 451 model.

He told me they were 2006 models. He sells multi million dollar homes and that has slowed down. Like I said if anyone wants more info I will speak with him

I seen something like that but over in Scottland I think. Was a Donald Trump gimmick to get ppl to buy his housing track houses over there. Buy a house get a smart. Had a golf course and all and houses were not cheap.

Like I said in the other thread about these, the companies are in reality lowering the prices of the property 20k and making you add a car to your mortgage and usually only let you do it through very specific loan agents and companies (ie. the ones they get referral money from or own)

Not really a scam, but you arent getting anything "free."

Probably ZAP imports - brought in a bunch in about 2004 - then 5 states wouldn't certify them to be sold (emissions,computer,etc). So, he did have a backlog. Penske/Mercedes are only 2008 and newer.

Well now I am curious. What about the 2008 version being sold in the US makes them safer than the previous versions sold in Europe?
