J.D. Power: America's best-loved cars - Smart Fortwo

Quote:
Sub-compact car: Smart ForTwo
2nd place: Scion xD
3rd place: Honda Fit

The ForTwo's main selling point is its tiny size and its tiny fuel costs. About as long as most mid-size cars are wide, the ForTwo is a breeze to park on congested city streets.

The tiny two-seater beat out roomier cars like the Scion xD and Honda Fit. While it may not be the most practical choice for a lot of people, the ForTwo delivers what its buyers are looking for, said David Sargent, vice president for automotive research at J.D. Power.
I found this article over at CNN, didn't see it on here and wanted to share. Smart Fortwo is loved by Americans

Edit* Wasn't allowed to post link since this was my first post. It can be found below

Couldn't find it either; two different things being surveyed - the initial one was looking at quality, this one looks at how owners feel about their cars.

However, I did find this: 2009 Smart ForTwo Reliability - Best Cars & Trucks - U.S. News Rankings and Reviews which actually has invoice prices listed!

Quote:
MSRP: $11,990 - $16,990
Invoice: $11,151 - $15,801
MPG: 33 City / 41 Hwy

Finally someone recognizes the truth most of us know: "the ForTwo delivers what its buyers are looking for."

We chose it over 100 alternatives.

We rock.

There are 100 alternatives in the sub-compact category ?!

I didn't like the article because it's difficult to read and understand what the heck it is they're presenting. This might be where you figured in the 100 alternatives... across 17 categories, each with their own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Maybe this is a better place to go at the J.D. Powers site itself:

2009 APEAL Study Results | J.D. Power

Scroll down to the "For More Information" to check, for instance, the results for the 2009 APEAL: Subcompact and Compact Cars | J.D. Power

It just goes to show what all of us already know that the smart car rocks. I hope this helps to convince more to go smart.

OMG J.D. Power has a major error in the article.

The Fortwo is sold as a 2-door hatchback or convertible, equipped with a normally aspirated 3-cylinder engine powering the front wheels through a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

I missed "powering the front wheels" the first couple times. Yikes!

Perhaps we have been driving it backwards all this time?
