I sent a follow-up e-mail to Mr. Kettenbeil today and did recieve a few answers to some specific questions. E-mailed Q&A were:

A couple of questions:

1. Has the 2008 USA Smart Fortwo Brochure been produced yet and is it available?

The brochures are currently at the printer. The dealers will have them in place in January.

2. Was there a newsletter published in November? I can’t locate anyone who received one?

Nope. You can expect a newsletter next week. Possibly the week of the 10th if we can announce our dealer network – we are that close.

3. If we live in an area where there will be multiple dealers is there any way to know which dealer will be contacting us?

Each dealer will have a geographic territory based on zip codes. The dealer closest to your home will contact you.

4. Have the 1st cars to be delivered left the port in France yet?

They are on a ship as we speak.

5. Can we be comfortable that the cars will be delivered in the order of the confirmations we completed?

Generally speaking yes. If you placed a reservation on March – we are looking at early 2008. If you placed a reservation today – you are looking at late 2008 or early 2009.

Yea! Yea! My car is on the ship!!! Whoopie!! What a time to get a new car, though!! The few times I've bought a new car have been in the Spring....new experience here....early mid January.....
