Las Vegas not Smart

First off, I want to extend a thank you to Sean. He let me sit in and even took me for a drivw in his Smart today.

In case anyone is wondering, I fit. More room than a Mini. I am going to reserve mine today. Will also get on the orphan list for Riverside and Chandler.

I just reserved one online and received my conf#. How long can I expect to wait to configure?

Should I just call and get on the orphan list in Riverside and Chandler?

Its going to be at least a year so get on an orphan list if you want one sooner than that. That's what I did and I'll sell my orphan in about 6 months.

And at the time I was on Chandler's orphan list they were selling orphans with no addons - just the msrp. I'm not sure whether that's still true or not.

How did you get on the list? Did you just call and give them information, or did you have to go there?

You can still hold out some hope....I talked to our Benz dealer last year (before the dealerships were announced) and they also said they were not a dealer and didn't think there would be one in town. Low and behold they actually had lost out to another non-MB dealership. So maybe just because your MB won't be a smart dealership does not mean PAG won't give a bid to someone else. Afterall, Vegas is a tough market to ignore.

No, I just called - I told them what I was looking for and they called me several times when something close came in. I actually ended up buying my cab used (500 miles on it) and didn't get an orphan, but the Chandler sales people were very helpful.

Thanks again sheureka, I was hoping that I could just call. I will call both tomorrow.

SmartCard, I have found out that Towbin Hummer will be the Smart dealer in the Las Vegas market, that is going to be funny.

It will not change the wait time any though, they do not expect to get any for a while, and I will not deal with Towbin. Anyone form the Vegas area knows they will rip you off any chance they get. It is unfortunate that they will be the closest place for repairs.

Chandler Smart Center sales people are just awesome!!! They will sell orphans without all the add-ons. I'm on a wait list right now for a different color.
