The mileage is great for the price.
I'm not afraid to be different.
As with any car....you need to get used to how it handles.
This car is going to be a blast.
I want mine NOW! (still worried about the cost of the extended warranty)
I agree. The Aztek looks dumb. The Pacer looks dumb. The Pinto explode-about looks dumb. The smart? She's a thing of beauty!

Yeah, man! I had two Gremlin X's AND a Pacer. The Gremlins were great, the Pacer was a nightmare! Bad paint. Low on power. Missing trim pieces when delivered. Poor quality. Parts falling off. Had to rebuild the carb every two weeks when it backfired and blew out all the gaskets.

Our smarts will definitely be much more attractive and reliable!

This is off topic, but was the Gremlin like the car that was in the Bond 007 movie "The Man w/the Golden Gun"? The one that did the flip over the fallen bridge? That was a nice looking car. I know it was another AMC car that was the one with the wings on it (Madidor or something like that). Boy, was that car ugly.

Still maintaining the off topic topic, it was an AMC Matador that made that jump. We had a Gremlin and a beautiful white Javelin with a big red C stripe and a black vinyl top. That was before it got the big ugly bulges in the fenders.

What's 'Minimalistic motoring' ?
For under $15k, a car with heated leather seats, remote locks, power windows, a sky roof, rear wiper, defrost, AC, alloy wheels, tire pressure control, abs, stability control.. there's nothing minimalist about it except it's footprint. Period. I agree that not having seating for 8 and a dvd player deems it less minimal than an Escalade, but nonetheless, it's as loaded as a Lexus all things considered.

Seems like there's an awful lot of former AMC fans here... Mine was a '79 Spirit, the one that looked like a Gremlin but wasn't.
