Another forum I participate in does exactly that. The administrator assigned a moderator to each forum topic. The moderators will try to keep threads consolidated , monitor for uncivil personal attacks, ensure that political content is discouraged and discussions of illegal behavior (eg. my Smart handles great at 95 mph through the downtown streets of Poughkeepsie) is halted. Fortunately, except for one or two exceptions, the only moderation required so far on this forum is thread organization.
