My understanding from Schembri was that there would be confernce calls today with the dealers-more likely middle of day to late day due to time differences. He implied that Fed-X packages would go out to the dealers late today that include the reservation info. My guess is those Fed-X packages won't make today's dispatch and are most likely going to be recieved by most dealers sometime before noon on Thursday.

I would think it would take a little time to go through those packages and move on the info, so my guess is we need to give them a break for a day or two and expect initial contacts to be made sometime Thursday afternoon or Friday.

I am sure people will post as soon as they get a call from their dealer.

Yes, I have a pretty good feeling we'll hear from a few people on this board once the phonecalls begin. That's just a sneaking suspicion though. ;)

Still, it would be nice if a dealer posted some info from the conference call.

my dealer called me today and said i would get the Vin # and the location of the car on Jan 14

I spoke to my local dealer today who confirmed there was a conference call. He had thought he'd get some indication of how many cars were due. Negative on that. He did say he expected his packet on Thursday and that they would be making calls as soon as they open the packet with the list of
"1173's". He also indicated that their showroom was not 100% complete (wallpaper going up today) and that their final approval as a dealer was expected on Friday.

My dealer (Kansas City) called and said that "the call" seemed a little vague. He thought that they would have the names of the January deliveries sometime on Thursday and he would call me whether or not I am in the January bunch. He also indicated that they expected cars in about a week, but that we are at the western end of the Baltimore delivery chain and that might make a few days difference. Denver, the next dealer to the west is getting their cars from Long Beach.

It's the moment you've all been waiting for, Chicago! Announcing the new smart center Lincolnwood! Our first vehicles will begin shipping to us the week of Monday the 14th of January, so our first reservation holders will be contacted very shortly.

Early reservers will get an email from smart USA on Thursday directing us to our dealer and giving us info on our car delivery.

That same day, your dealer should have his list and begin trying to contact you.

Dealers will officially open Monday, January 14th.

Cars start rolling next week to arrive at all dealers on/by January 16th. Departures will be staggered from Long Beach, Jacksonville and Baltimore so the cars should all arrive on the same day no matter how far from the port they are. Denver? I've heard both, that your cars are coming from either Long Beach, or Baltimore. No matter, its timed so everyone should get their cars on the same day.

Initial allocations I've heard vary from just a few demos and dealer cars to as many as 65 plus at some dealerships. The dealers will know most all when FedEx shows up with their packets including smart Connect passwords and the lists. They could arrive as early as tomorrow.

Some dealerships don't have state licenses, yet, so that might stop a few from delivering a car. Others haven't completed building inspections and final smart sign offs. But that is continuing.

The beginning is almost here!

Talked to our local dealer in the Charleston, SC area today. They just started construction on the smart showroom area. Expect construction to be complete around the end of February. Guessing that shipments in will start early March.
