also checked 'smartcenterchicago.com' which they also took ... possibly for future expansion?? one can only hope as well as 'smartcenterbarrington.com' and 'smartcenterhoffmanestates.com' were the other potential MBZ dealers I thought that they may have been negotiating with (and are both closer to where I live) ... they covered a LOT of bases, probably registered many others for the future (it's very cheap to register domain names)

Glad to hear you're so excited about your new smartcar. Was wondering if I could talk to you. Sort of random way of tracking you down. I'm a reporter with a local news station here in Omaha and we're doing a news story on the smartcar. We're looking for people in Omaha who are waiting for the car to talk to.

Went down to the dealership this morning for an update and to be interviewed by Fox 42 News. Outside of the build is tarped off for construction. Inside the showroom is taking shape. They now has US spec literature including the accessories catalog. Got a copy of my page from "the book" so I have the VIN number now. Confirmed I'm 15 on the list of 220+. First shipment of demos and 13 customer cars is still expected by the 17th. Mine should be on the second shipment (end of Jan / first week in Feb).
