OK- I'm new here and just received my confirmation 03/24/08 so I KNOW I'm totally rushing things by trying to de-code my Confirmation Number but....
What concerns me is that in many people's postings I see they have a Confirmation Number consisting of only 4 digits. Guess what- MY Confirmation Number has a whopping TEN (count them- TEN) digits! What's up with that? Am I missing something or am I correct I thinking (God forbid) that I just may NEVER get my own SMART??!! This waiting game may be the end of me> Maybe I should change my name to "gotta get a LIFE". Thanks for the support!

DAMN......here i thought you had RESERVED on 3/24/08 and had gotten an invitation to CONFIRM AND CONFIGURE since you mentioned a 'confirmation' number. all that was is the 'reservation number' which everyone has from the time they put down their $99. sorry, guess i misunderstood.

now i'm all bummed out.........

"Agent99" is half way between Chicago and Indy (driving time about 2 hours) and can't get assigned to EITHER dealer, yet "carol f" is FIVE HOURS from HER smart dealer.

OH, i've been watching it. about a week after i 'reserved' (3/16/08), i checked the DDE and it said "Oct-Dec 2009". i was REALLY bummed out.

then about 3-4 weeks later, it changed to "Sept-Nov 2009". my DDE was 'stuck' on that until LAST NIGHT!!! now it reads "Aug-Oct 2009". so overall, since my reservation, i've moved UP in line 60 days. ok, i feel better now!

hope your DDE pops up soon for you. just remember that it's only just that....a "Delivery Date ESTIMATOR" and nothing else.

I like to look at it like this.
When you buy your ticket, with a number on it, to buy a smart. You are allowed in the door. Where you enter a maze. In this maze you are on a conveyer belt. Like any other maze there are forks in the path along the way, but you don't get to choose your route. There are parts of the maze that are well lighted others are dim and others are dark. Most of us enter the dark section where we know nothing. We can't see anybody else, we don't know how long the maze is and we can't talk to anyone. some of us will stay in the dark all the way through the maze. Some will go through a dimmly lit area where we can see and talk to some of the other people. We can compair ticket numbers and we think we know something about where we are in the maze. Then we notice some of the people appear to be moving faster and some slower. Along the way we are given clues, like that sign on the wall that seems to be flashing ramdom dates for some reason. Some of us are allowed to travel in the well lit area where they can see everyone, talk to everyone, even people outside the maze, Dealers and smartusa. These people are told when there car will be built what the vin number is what boat it is on when it docks at the port what time it will be at the dealer and when to pick it up. Only that info may or may not be true.
