Not really, I have heard on these forums of ppl configuring july and still have not gotten their car. I posted my dates, and I post them again for you. But it depends on the dealer. If I knew or the rest of the forums knew where you hailed from, we might be able to give you a better idea. Here is mine though.

I'm in CA, but my dealer said once you configure it's about a 4 to 6 month wait. However when I told them my configure date came only 3 months after making a reservation, then they said they wouldn't be surprised if my delivery date was less than 4 to 6 months.

What date, specifically?

I made my reservation on July 12th and I got my email to configure this past Friday. However I still think it might depend on where you live. I'm in N. CA

reserved Feb. 7 '08 , config. Sept. 16 , delivery posted for feb... i was told 18+ month wait when i dropped the $99

I reserved my car on September 13, '07 and received word to configure on August 26, so nearly 12 months. Around that time the DDE said delivery December - February; however it is no longer working (hasn't for nearly a month). I'm now nearly 4 months out from configuration with no word on delivery at all.

I'm in Chicago and reserved for the Lincolnwood location. I have a message out with the dealership to see if I can expect it at any point. Crossing my fingers!

This feels like my situation. I reserved Oct. 4th '07, configured around a year later (Late Sept. '08) and have been told it should arrive Jan. 5th. At least I now can cargo track it...

I am a 1375. I reserved a Smart Pure in October of 2007. I had read that you could wait up to 18 months, so I didn't really question it when I was never contacted. However, my neighbor received his Smart Cabriolet the other day, and he reserved in Feb. 2008. I never received a config email, not even in my spam folder. I called Smart this weekend, and they said something must have went wrong, so I configured today. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem, and if so, will I have to wait 6 more months for my car? Considering I didn't get the first configuration email, I feel like it's their fault that I wasn't able to configure long ago. Why doesn't Smart call or send a letter???

I reserved July 26, 2007. I got the confirmation email on September 06, 2008. I got a call from the dealer in Omaha Nebraska (La Vista actually) who said my car should be in their hands some time around the end of January 2009. I'm a little skeptical about this phone call. The DDE on the Smart website showed Nov-2008-Jan 2009, when I did the configuration. The DDE actually got "date specific" some time around December 01, and has been slipping a day at a time for several weeks. Now my DDE is saying 1-10-2009 through 4-10-2009. I'll try to update this when I get more information.
