SouthEast?

I am mostly wondering what happened to the southeast. They don't have anything near Atlanta, or for that matter, anywhere near Georgia. Seems strange but I guess that will all be updated by end of January.

I don't think the cities shown on the map are a true representation of where the actual dealerships will be located. Yes I am sure some are correct. Buckhead (Atlanta) has already been confirmed here on this site and as you can see there is nothing listed on the map that is shown even remotely close to Atlanta. I also think there are other locations in the southeast that has been confirmed, but not listed.

Can see 2 in Chicago ...

and the one up in Milwaukee, WI (of course not to scale) so that's encouraging for Chicagoland folks

I really liked this updated comment on the smart.usa site ...

"Until then, we will continue to contact groups of Reservation Holders by email weekly with our Reservation Confirmation Program."

Of course all that could mean is all of the rest of those folks who haven't yet confirmed their choice from the $99 reservation and not those who already have confirmed ... the last email I received was my step two confirmation on 11/9 so anything more often would be appreciated ... I doubt of course I'm anywhere near the front of the line but this is at least a bit of progress. I may have missed it as well but they seem to now be updating the "in the news" section as well ...

There are rougly 58 dots on the map if I counted correctly. PAG has been indicating they would open with some 50 dealers 1st of the year growing to the mid-seventies by year end next year. Sooooooooooo, the map may well represent what we see open over the first couple months of the year.

It will be very interesting to see how the cars are distributed. It sure appears that to be an early delivery will take a combination of early res, early confirm AND early dealership opening in your geographic area?

Still lots of questions but every little bit of info helps.

Test of the Canadian (NA 451) ...

From the Canadian smart site, The Leader Post tested the 451 NA versions and indicated:

Fuel: EnerGuide Canada Fuel Consumption Guideline for the City; 5.9 l/100 km. (48 mpg.). Highway; 4.8 l/100km. (59 mpg.).

They must run these only on a dyno at set speeds in CDN ... and yes, this appears to be the current version not diesel, these numbers also come from the smart canada dealer site but were converted to mpg by the reviewer, would also assume that there are listed in CDN imperial gallons which would change this as well ... far cry from 33/41 ??

Maybe no one other than the few here on this forum in the Cleveland area reserved, and I'm really at the top of the list, with delivery this coming January, rather than next winter as the 34,000 number might indicate. That would be cool! ;)

After studying the new "dealership" map, I'm confused. I know I read somewhere that Alaska and Hawaii were going to have dealers. I don't see them on the map. Also I'm surprised at the big empty section on the map. Thats going to make a lot of people unhappy.

SMorris,

Sorry, but my #1226 beats your #1391 here in Cleveland. Let's hope that only a few of us are out there in NEO and we'll all get our smarts quickly.
