For model year 2010 the smart fortwo 451 boasts even more power and environmental friendliness. Following a clear power increase the smart fortwo cdi now has an output of 40 kW (54 hp). The maximum torque has been increased by 18 percent to 130 Nm. Moreover, the whole range of engines now complies with the EU5 standard.

The interior of the smart fortwo 451 has been subtly upgraded for model year 2010. New contrast components in pearl black for the pure, pulse and passion replace the previous contrast components in pearl grey. A new centre armrest for the driver offers enhanced seating comfort. It is optionally available for all lines in black imitation leather, design red and design beige fabric.
