Smart Car At NAB

I went to the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. With all the broadcast equipment ther, I never thought I'd spot a Smart Car on the show floor. The photo appears on my WEB Page Podcast, see bottom of the page.

The funny side to this was that wen my son and I went to the LA Car Show, I spotted the Panasonic HVX-200 video camera with a Firestorm drive. My son commented, "Only you Dad, would spot a video camera at a car show."

When I spotted the Smart at NAB, my son said, "Olny you Dad, would spot a car at a video show!"

Did anyone else go to NAB?
If yes, did you spot the Smart Car?

NAB is a great show; I've never been to the LA one. I did see a small house, "SSL Shed Of Your Dreams" at the AES in NY though. Big enough to garage the smart.

I think it's interesting that the company Axcera decided to use a Smart Car as part of the booth, to grab people's attention. With so many things at NAB, getting people's attention is critical.

Clever to use a Smart...

I went to NAB. Heck, I'm a broadcaster that lives in Vegas. I'd better be there.

I, too, saw the Smart. First thing that crossed my mind was, "I'll bet I could create an internet based ENG setup with one of those." I was disappointed to find the Smart was displaying only a form of mobile TV. I also thought it should have been yellow. It would have been cooler to have a laptop-based edit system in the dash, with a small HDV camera, some cabling (or RF feed system) and a break-out box in the trunk.

I also saw the LED Ring Light in your first picture. I didn't like that ring light too much, though. I noticed a severe hot spot from it at a certain distance.
