On July 28, 2007, a large group of smart cars (20 or more) from Le Club smart du Quebec will be leaving Montreal for a one-day trip to the USA to see the Smart Road Show to be held in Cooperstown, NY, not far from Albany. Another group of Canadians from Ontario from other Smart car clubs will join us somewhere near Albany, NY. Time of arrival in Cooperstown, NY: between 1:00 and 2:00 PM.

From the East (Albany, New England):

Take the New York State Thruway (I-90)to Exit 25A (Duanesburg/I-88)
Then take I-88 to Duanesburg (5 mi.)
Then take Route 20 West to Route 80 West
Take Route 80 to Cooperstown

From the south:
I-88 from Binghamton, Exit 17, State Highway 28, north to Cooperstown.

I will be driving to Cooperstown on July 28th from North Albany. Unfortunately, I don't have my Smart yet but hopefully by that day it will be ordered for early '08. ( I have a very early $99 reservation)
I have followed the evolution of the Smart for more than a year and am excited about finally seeing it come to fruition in the US. It will be exciting to see that many Smarts going down the Adirondack Northway (I-87). I live very near to Exit 7 on I-87 and when I see you all coming, I am going to join into your motorcade if you don't mind. If you expect to get to Cooperstown by 1-2 PM, you should be passing exit 7 at around 11:30-12:00noon.
I have a small car too---look for a silver Honda S-2000---that will be me! Please have a safe trip and I will look forward to meeting and talking with you all about your Smart cars!

With the Baseball Hall Of Fame Inducting this weekend I think this is ill-concieved. VERY Bad timing. It will be an absolute ZOO in Cooperstown. Best Of luck to all who head over there, you'll need it!
