This is more like the mpg numbers I think Smart needs to really turn heads. The good news is that they already make this system available elsewhere. I'm not sure what "micro hybrid" has to do with engine shut off but hey, it's an election year. (I don't expect rhetoric to make sense.)

Not if I beat them to market.... no that's a lie--- I am a private enthusiast and while owning a "Penske Racing Edition" sounds too cool, I am far to much a cheap skate to pay what they would want

Any one remeber the mid 80s Renault R5 Turbo... I loved that little go fast machine but the James Bond movie made it too popular and semi expensive...
I bought a Used 1986 LeCar for next to nothing ($3000) and with genuine factory parts made my own 225HP R-5.5 Turbo and had a blast in it for about half the cost of the real deal....
