Smart engine in airplane.

Packard was one of the first to put a diesel engine in an airplane. Now we see the kit folks are using the Smart CDI.

Diesel engines work well in airplanes as they turn slower. Faster turning gas car engines have been used in many homebuilt's, but the prop speed must be geared down. I expect to see our Mitsu gasser flying soon. A2Jack

Turbo Diesel aircraft engine, Smart Car turbo diesel installed in light sport aircraft Ramphos trike.
