OK, so they are 450s, not 451s. Or, are they 451s with the old engine? But still ...

They are lots 419 (scheduled to go on the block Wednesday) and 1578 (Sunday).

Very interesting and rare if true. These supposedly are the ONLY two 2007's in the country.

Odd, as the 2007 models are the 451 body style with the Mitsubishi engine. The last Mercedes 450 model smart was built as a 2006 model year. North America (US and Canada) did not get any 2007 models.

Mmm, I love how they are playing up the Mercedes engine in this. I almost feel like I need to bid on this instead, why would I want to be pushed around by a lowly Mitsubishi

If you want more power I would think you'd want the Mitsubishi
In addition, Mitshubishi makes quality engines IMHO

I know, I was being sarcastic

I grew up with the 3 pointed star... we've had an S class of some sort in the garage my entire life... I plan on planting a C in mine sometime after the smart is here. I have a bias, but I also realize that there were a lot of good reasons to go with the Mitsu.

At first I was rather disappointed in hearing that they chose Mitsu for the 451... as far as car companies go, they are rather far down on the list of ones I personally respect. That being said, I have read up on this one we are getting, and after driving a few of them/looking it over, I'm happy with the choice - I like how it feels/sounds. If this is what it took to get the smart here, good.

I suppose that auction just strikes me wrong.
