My son had a funny idea for a Smart Car video:

It starts with 2 SUVs and a Smart Car. They place SUV-A on top of SUV-B; if the roof of SUV-A crumples, so much the better. Then they take BOTH SUVs and place them on top of the Smart Car.

Given that the IIHS tests showed that the Smart help up against 9,000 pounds, it should be able to take the weight of 2 SUVs. The ending would show the narrator opening the door of the Smart (with both SUVs on top), getting in, and Saying, "The Smart's safety cell, is built to take it."

Seriously. We've all seen the video of the double decker smart. Think of the PR possibilities if they stuck a Hummer H2 on the smart, and another smart on top of that. New from Smart: The Hummer Sammich.

H2 weight 6614 lb + smart 1800 = 8400 lbs, leaves just a little margin to drive the smart below it. Of course, the transmission would last all of twelve feet with that load, but it'd make a hell of a PR video.

Someone tell Dave Schembri I came up with that idea, he'll be in tears.
