lhoboy - let me add an example. Under Product, Passion, Safety, where are CBC, ASC and ETC listed? The listing for each model under Product seems be be an equipment list which would be on a window sticker. Does this help explain my question?

Ask smart

I would recommend emailing smart usa for clarification. I've done this a few times and always received a prompt and informative response.

The easiest way to do this is to click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any smartusa.com page and fill out the question form.

MicroNut - I have already. Below is the current exchange.

Dear Sir,

I did look at the tab on the top of the page labeled Safety. The items listed there are not all included under the Safety category for each car model. So what are the Safety features included in the US models?

I hear you. For my money, whatever wheels come on the car, stay on the car.

Under the vatious models they list the same safety equipment, and none of them offer additional safety features as options. The list under the active safety feature section shows all of the features you are looking for. That page is an exhaustive list of Smart safety features and they imply they are features of all their cars.

At the beginning of the list they say:
"The smart fortwo is packed with a long list of active safety features that will introduce you to a whole new set of acronyms and keep you safer in the process." That means they're all loaded with these features. Nowhere does it say available or optional. It says the Smart is packed with these features.

Yeah, I agree, Teapots. I first thought the metallic Blue on the black was the one to have and now that I've looked and looked and looked again at each I've changed my mind to silver as well.

Response to Teapots

Not sure how my response got into a different thread....this forum is quirky at times...jumps around to different threads. Anyway, I had already stated that I had originally chosen the metallic blue on black and after looking at the silver and blue changed my mind in favor of the silver rather than the black...snappier looking IMHO>

Smart USA did confirm the Safety equipment

Dear smart Enthusiast, Thank you for your interest in smart USA. The smart fortwo is designed with safety in mind and features a number of standard safety features including anti-lock brakes, Electronic Stability Program, and 4 air bags. The central component in the safety management system of the fortwo is the tridion safety cell, which is made of 3 layers of reinforced steel. In addition, Corner Braking Control provides brake force control at each wheel to keep your car moving in the direction it

Will Smart charge delivery and prep?

Right now Smart pricing looks great- they kept their word on holding the line under their announced price. I have to wonder what the delivery and prep plan is on the sticker? Does the price include it? Of cause then we still have to wonder what dealers will do regarding extra charges but that's a thread for another day.
