Smartville news (a million fortwo!)

Smartville is restarting production today, after two weeks vacations (August 9-25, 2008). No indication if the new cars are '08 or '09 yet, this will be announced shortly, after the big celebration scheduled for next week.

Smartville is frantically preparing the big celebration, scheduled for Wednesday September 3rd, 2008:
The 1,000,000th smart fortwo, to be given to a yet unnamed charity, will be built. Daimler CEO, Dr. Zietsche, will be there for the occasion, media will attend, and we can expect some news breaking announcement.

mhd will be installed on ALL smarts sold in Europe. Discussions about mhd stateside are ongoing. [Let's cross our fingers!]

When I was at the factory last week they were very busy preparing the media & visitor center for the one millionth smart celebration this Wed. Too bad I couldn't stay for the party.
