Welcome, Little Smart Car, to the Big American Road - New York Times 1/6/08

This piece from the New York Times includes a cool graphic comparing the size of the smart to other vehicles:

the tallness of the smart is whats interesting.

put a caddilac or towncar next to the semi-trailor-truck, and it will seem small as its roof is far below the roof of the trailor.

that same tall height of the smart, can give a false sense of security, due to the smart driver line of sight, relatively so high off the ground.

all the more important, to drive safe, remembering there isnt much 'bump' cushion behind you, or in front of you.

but next to the graphics, and comparisons, the smarts high height actually gives the impression of the smart being a pretty good sized, vehicle. which, height wise, versus the rest of the usa vehicles, it is.

Guess I should pick up my Sunday times and read more of it

Too funny that they didn't bother to even have a pick of the new Smart and show the old one instead.
