So I recently decided to change my order color from black to silver not because I liked the silver more but because I think others will like the silver more and in turn it will be a more attract resale.
I will be upfront that I don't plan on keeping my original smart for more then a year and am hoping to see the value hold up their if the demand is there. Now before you go asking why I don't plan on keeping it... let me just say it, I want the diesel and I want it bad!
So, what are your thoughts, what color vehicle will have the best resale?
In our 20 month sales experience, the Blue Metallic was by far the most popular. Current poll on this thread shows that to be pretty accurate, but our "Blue to Silver Sales and Inquiries" were probably 2 to 1 for the Blue.

Buy the color you will like the most. Why worry about the resale value when it makes the best financial sense to keep the car until it has little resale value at all regardless of color? (Also the most ecological sense).
The savings with diesel power will be overshadowed by the depreciation you incur on the car you will be trying to sell.
If it was a Cadilac or a Jaguar I would say yellow would be harder to resell, but this is a fun car, and I vote for the funnest color, yellow. Especially with the cabrio.

I would tend to agree. It was actually the graphic designed 450s in Canada that first drew my attention to the marque. The wilder and more outragious the paint job, the higher the resale value. I would love to have a Calder design on mine.
