What's the latest NEWS on Bloomfield Hills?

OK, it's now officially 2008 and most workers have returned to work from the holidays. Has anybody stopped in or driven by the Smart Dealership in Bloomfield Hills? Are their doors open, now? Have any more cars arrived? Please don't tell me that they are just delaying deliveries for the auto show in Detroit to get the FIRST BIG SPLASH in the newspapers. Heck, we all know their first year's quota of cars are going to be sold, whether they grab headlines now or not. I'd much rather show up at the Auto Show DRIVING a Smart Fortwo, that drive my old clunker there to see one that I have to wait even longer to get.

SInce nobody has posted that they've been contacted, I suspect that Bloomfield Hills is calling the shots for the 'approved' release date and time. I was hoping it would be Jan. 2nd at 8:00 but obviously, that's come and gone.

Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Good question. I, too, have been patiently waiting for the "big" announcement that I thought was going to take place Jan. 2nd. So far, nada. So.....where's the big hoopla?

Harleyduo, I drove past the Bloomfield smart Center this afternoon, although I didn't have time to stop in.
There are still workmen finishing off the outside of the building. My guesstimate is that they'll be done with that today or tomorrow. It looks nearly complete as I type this.
The temporary offices in back looked like they were still in use, although I could only get a glimpse of them as I drove past.
The showroom looked complete, but I didn't see any cars in there. Still, flying past at 50 MPH isn't going to provide one with the best view.
I'll try to stop in tomorrow. More later!

I drove by the dealership today, and it looked like they are finishing the outside and maybe putting up a new sign. The only car was a blue and silver one parked by the temp, bldg. There was very little inside the showroom.
